Utilismart Corporation provides Wholesale and Retail Settlement Services to Local Distribution Companies and Market Participants in Ontario. The utilismart^TM service is a complete turn-key service that ensures your data is managed in a safe and accurate manner. The service provides market participants the ability to verify their IESO invoices, complete Notice of Disputes (NODs) with the IESO and calculate total energy purchased from various generation sources to ensure that their Total System Load Calculations are accurate. For Retail Settlement, Utilismart Corporation provides all the pricing, meter(kWh) and Demand (kW or kVar) values required by your billing system. Utilismart provides an interface that will meet the Customer Information System (CIS) system requirements so transferring the data from the utilismart^TM settlement system to your CIS system is efficient and secure. Currently Utilismart Corporation provides interfaces with six Customer Information Systems, serving over 30% of the electric utilities in Ontario.

How your data flows in the system:

Utilismart Corporation utilizes MV-90xi for data collection purposes. We have one of the largest MV-90xi shops in the province which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Utilizing MV-90xi allows us to communicate with multiple interval meter types in the province and also allows us to provide to our customers the reports that MV-90xi is capable of generating.

Once MV-90xi has collected your data and validates the data through the MV-90xi VEE procedure, the meter data is exported and processed through our customized program (PVOS/DCE). In this part of the system, the raw meter data exported by MV-90xi is combined with the Ontario HOEP price, your utility specific rates and loss factors. The demand values are calculated and the data is compiled to provide the customer with not only raw meter data but also the costs associated with using each kilowatt hour.
