LONDON – October 14, 2021 – Utilismart’s 17th Annual Golf Classic was a spectacular event at Hockley Valley Resort on Thursday, October 7, 2021. It’s the company’s annual customer appreciation day where those in attendance were reconnected to what makes life worth living, authentic face-to-face encounters, transporting many back in time – to an era before digital fatigue took over our world!
Utilismart’s Golf Classic is a significant highlight for the company and was sadly missed last year. This event allowed more than 90 golfers to dust off their clubs and enjoy a beautiful day on (and off) the golf course in honour of its customers. “Utilismart’s Golf Classic is a significant event for us,” says VP of Business Development and Innovation, Miroslav Karlicic. “It gives us the opportunity to (re)connect with our customers while allowing us to contribute to the greater cause, raise funds for our chosen charity, the Canadian Cancer Society.”
The Canadian Cancer Society has become the voice for many who are affected by the disease. Cancer didn’t stop being a life-changing and life-threatening condition in the middle of a global pandemic. Many living with cancer became among the most vulnerable in our communities as they are considered at higher risk of more severe outcomes due to COVID-19. Quarantines and physical distancing measures, while necessary, isolate people with cancer from their family support network, compounding the stress and anxiety that comes with a cancer diagnosis and during treatment. Utilismart felt that the Canadian Cancer Society was a worthy receiver of this year’s proceeds benefit, allowing them to continue their ground-breaking research into cancer while offering free programs and services to those in need of information and care. Utilismart has been fortunate enough to raise close to $16,000 at this year’s Golf Classic with the organization’s generous customers and partners and their contributions. “This truly is a remarkable and heart-warming achievement for us – especially during these tough times,” adds Karlicic.
“A big THANK YOU to Utilismart and supporters for raising close to $16,000 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Today, about 60% of Canadians diagnosed with cancer will survive at least 5 years after their diagnosis. The funds you raised will help us fund Canada’s most promising cancer research and save more lives – Maria Cabral, Manager, Independent Fundraising Events”, said Canadian Cancer Society Manager of Northwestern Communities, Maria Cabral.
